La Residenza is a unique residency in Rome for emerging filmmakers from around the world who are working on their first or second narrative feature film.
Over the course of four weeks, from June 9 to July 6, participants will follow a personalized screenwriting program alongside a collective schedule of meetings with directors and industry professionals, surrounded by the iconic cinematic heritage of the Italian capital.
The project aims to foster an ongoing dialogue between cinema and the city, sparking creativity and allowing participants to engage with a community of enthusiasts and industry professionals.
La Residenza reflects the commitment of the Piccolo America Foundation to making Rome a hub of experimentation and innovation, bringing together cinema, writing, and community in a project that promises to have a meaningful impact on the artistic and cinematic landscape.
The first edition will take place in Rome from June 9 to July 6, 2025, hosting four selected filmmakers. The program offers a complete experience including accommodation in the heart of Rome, professional mentors for script development, industry workshops, unlimited access to Cinema Troisi screenings, cultural city tours, meetings with guests of Il Cinema in Piazza 2025, and networking opportunities with national and international production and distribution companies.
At the end of the La Residenza, the selected directors will present their pitches to Numero 10, a production company founded by Paolo Sorrentino, who together with the Fondazione Piccolo America is committed to creating a space for experimentation and a community that has an impact on the cinematographic and artistic realities of the territory.
